Three signs your offer needs simplifying

An offer rarely becomes confusing in one dramatic moment. It often accumulates exceptions: a bonus here, a custom call there, another audience added because the last inquiry seemed promising. Three signals suggest it is time to review the design.

1. Every conversation needs a new explanation

If a buyer cannot tell who the offer is for, what changes, and what is included, the offer may be framed around your internal process instead of their decision.

2. Delivery expands after the sale

Repeated unplanned work can mean scope is unclear—or that a genuinely valuable step has not yet been formalised. Review what was promised, what was delivered, and what clients actually used.

3. Every proposal is a different product

Custom work is not automatically bad. But if each proposal requires fresh pricing and delivery design, you may be selling expertise without a clear buying path.

Review five recent engagements. Mark the starting situation, repeated milestones, useful outcomes, and exceptions. Protect what makes the work distinctive; simplify the decision and name the boundaries. Do not remove customisation that is essential to quality.
